These are equipment that condense vapours by direct contact producing an efficient condensation of steam and cooling of non-condensable gases. They are equipped by one or more spray nozzles, to create a large interfacial area in order to improve contact and heat transfer.
This type of condenser is suitable when the mixing between the process fluid and the cooling fluid is possible.
